Brent McClellan


Hailing from the mountains of southern West Virginia, Brent began his fire service career in 1992 in the small town of Lenore.  He attended Marshall University’s Paramedic program in 1995 and began an EMS career that has given him the opportunities to work pre-hospital, in the emergency room, and on the helicopter.  Brent was named the Fire Chief of Lenore in 2000, and accepted a position with Midway in 2003.  He and his wife Penny and twins Caleb and Calee reside in Pawleys Island, where they enjoy spending time together on the beach.  Brent was awarded Firefighter/Paramedic of the year in 2005 and promoted to Lieutenant in 2006

Jason Dennis


Born in Lake City, South Carolina

Started five years with South Lynches Fire as a volunteer.  Then Jason started at Midway in 2002.  Jason enjoys hunting and fishing in the woods of the Big LC and NASCAR.

Matt Smittle

 Matt is originally from Ripley West Virginia and joined the ranks of Midway Fire Rescue in September of 2002.  Matt was employed as a Firefighter / Paramedic at one of West Virginia’s largest industrial facilities. When off duty, Matt worked up through the ranks at Ripley Volunteer Fire Department and served as Fire Chief before moving to South Carolina.  Matt continues to work on the EMS Q/A committee for Midway Fire Rescue.

Henry Hulit

Henry is from Michigan were he was a paid on-call firefighter from 1992 till 2005. He has been a paramedic since 1997. In July of 2005 he joined Midway. In his off time he likes hanging out and going to the beach with his two daughters and his wife.

Michael Hessler


Michael is from Columbus, Ohio ans started his firefighting and Paramedic career with the Myrtle Beach Fire Dept. He joined Midway in January 1999 and is currently the EMS forms Control Officer.

From Union City, IN

Likes to spend time with his kids:  Trevor, Lauren, Lucas, Nora, Zac and his girlfriend Lorna.  Before leaving to see the world, Phil spent 11 months at MFR in 2005.  Once his passport expired, he's been back at Midway since November 2006.

Jesse Morgan

Jesse is from Harsen's Island,MI where he was a Firefighter/EMT before he joined Midway Fire Rescue in March of 2008.Jesse resides in Murrell's Inlet, SC with his wife Wendy and daughter Amber.

Scott McGuire


From: Orrville, Ohio

 Scott graduated from Hocking College in December of 2006 with an Associates Degree in Firefighter and Paramedic. Scott joined Midway in early April. In his spare time, Scott likes to race his car in drift races

Mike Chapman

Moved from Flat Rock, Michigan to Myrtle Beach ans started with Midway in December of 2007. He loves to spend his spare time with his wife, Jennifer and kids, Niki, Michael and Sammi. He also likes going to the beach.

Jeremy Tumblin

Jeremy is from Coshocton, OH. Started career with Georgetown County Fire/EMS in August of 2006. Joined Midway in May of 2008. Jeremy enjoys all kinds of sports including fishing, football, baseball, and basketball. Also enjoys going to the beach and THE Ohio State Buckeyes.

Will Tayloe


Will Tayloe took an interest in the firefighter/rescue field upon moving to the Pawleys Island area in August of 2006. Will joined Midway Fire and Rescue as a Volunteer when he made his "big move" from Myrtle Beach. He was Volunteer of the year, in 2008. With a growing interest in the firefighter and rescue industry, Will attended and recently graduated from the Myrtle Beach Fire Academy in May 2009. He joined Midway as a Firefighter and EMT in August of 2009.In his spare time he enjoys deep sea fishing, boats, scuba diving, beach music and shag dancing. He currently lives in Litchfield Beach with his new wife Kari. They were married on March 20, 2010 in a nice wedding in Litchfield.

Troy Hutchinson

Troy "Hutch" Hutchinson has over 29 years in the fire service. 1981 He started as a volunteer in Prince Georges County Maryland with the Silver Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He begain his firefighting career in 1985 with federal government in Washington DC. In 1987 he became a Firefighter / EMT with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Fire & Rescue Department where he came up through the ranks to Captain. Troy was proud to respond to the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 as part of the Airport Pentagon task force. He enjoys spending time with family, fishing, hunting, watching nascar, playing golf and riding his Harley Davidson.

Brian Michna

Canton (Nimishillen Township) Ohio

Brian began his Fire Department career in late 2004 while still attending St. Thomas Aquinas High school. While working at a number of part time fire departments and at Paquelet-Falk funeral home Brian graduated from The University of Akron with a degree in Fire Protection. In his spare time Brian enjoys watching his not so favorite baseball team the Detroit Yankees. Brian resides in Pawleys Island with his wife KC, a firefighter for Georgetown County Fire/EMS and beloved guinea pig Javier Suarez.

Chris Badertscher



 

Chris originally from Orrville, OH started his fire career in 2000 and worked at a couple of departments before coming to Midway Fire Rescue in February 2010. Chris resides in Murrells Inlet, SC with his wife Jen and 3 girls Riley, Taylor, and Bailee. Chris obtained the nickname Carlos from a movie the guys were watching, while sitting at the table at the firehouse.

Michael Haddad

Mike is originally from St. Clair Shores Michigan.  He is a second generation firefighter who started his career with the City of Wyandotte MI.  Mike attended Macomb Community College and obtained an associated degree and paramedic certification in 2008.  Mike enjoys playing hockey and golf in his spare time.

Cory Ginter

He recently came to us from Georgetown County. He moved to South Carolina from Ohio. While in Ohio he recieved all of his training from the Ohio Fire Academy. Cory has been in the fire service about 3 years now and currently lives in Pawleys Island. On his free time he likes to go to the beach, hangout with friends, and workout.
