MFR Accepts a Prestigious Award

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Midway Fire Rescue has been selected as South Carolina’s 2011 Emergency Medical System of the Year in the Small System Category! The award was announced Saturday evening at the annual South Carolina EMS Symposium in Myrtle Beach. The state divides this award into two categories, Large and Small. A Small System is defined as one that runs less than 2,000 medical calls in the year. Last year we responded to approximately 1,600 medical calls. This is a tremendous honor and the first time this award has come to us. We believe it reflects greatly on the dedication and professionalism of not only our people, but the entire county. Thanks to each of you, along with Council and the citizens, for your efforts and support that have helped make this recognition possible.
