2nd Alarm at the Broken Spur Restaurant

At 0100hrs on Tuesday morning, Midway Fire Rescue was dispatched to the 76 box at Pendergrass Ave and Highway 17 By-Pass for a 2nd alarm working commercial fire. Murrells Inlet Garden City Fire Department arrived on scene with smoke and fire showing from the Broken Spur restaurant. Engine 811 and Medic 815 minutes after dispatch with fire threw the roof and units being pulled out to begin a defensive operation.

Engine 811 was assigned RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) on arrival with Medic 815. Medic 815 was reassigned to start rehab for crews working the incident. After a defensive operation was started, command requested Tower 814 for suppression efforts. Tower 814 arrived minutes later and the crews worked for several hours knocking down most of the fire. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down. Command scaled back the units to Murrels Inlet Garden City Fire Units.

Midway Fire Rescue units were out for approximately 4 hours.
