Minnow Drive House Fire

On Monday July 6, 2020 in the early morning at approximately 2:00 am, Midway Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Minnow Drive. The resident awoke to the smell of smoke and located a fire in the residence. Ladder 821 arrived within 3 minutes with smoke and fire showing from the exterior of a double wide trailer. Battalion 81 completed a walk around of the structure and reported all occupants out of the structure establishing minnow drive command.

Ladder 821 started an interior attack supported by Engine 811 and other Midway units arriving on scene. Chief 2 arrived on scene and took command with Battalion 81 assigned to operations.

The fire was quickly knocked down in about 10 minutes with extensive overhaul by the first due companies. Ladder 831 and Engine 841 supported the Rapid Intervention Team function. Command marked control of the incident at about the one-hour mark with crews assisting with salvage and overhaul. The crews cleared the scene in about 3 hours while the division of fire and life safety took over the investigation.

We would like to thank Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire, Georgetown County Fire/EMS, Georgetown City Fire department, Georgetown County Sheriff’s department, and our Central Dispatch for providing assistance during operating at this structure fire.
