MFR Assists Georgetown City on Early Morning Structure Fire

On Tuesday morning at approximately 0344 hours, Midway Fire Rescue was dispatched as part of a multi-alarm assignment for a reported structure fire with entrapment. Georgetown City and County units arrived with a two story apartment building with fire showing. The first in crews were advised by the police department on scene that people were jumping from the second floor and unknown on entrapment. Command immediately requested the second alarm bringing Midway Fire Rescue. Ladder 831 and Engine 821 responded to support Georgetown City Fire. Midway Ladder 831 and Engine 821 arrived on scene assisting Georgetown City and Georgetown County crews with extinguishment operations utilizing Ladder 831's ladder pipe and multiple handlines. The crews worked for about four hours until being released by command.
