MFR Crews Respond to Scaffold Failure
Around Noon, MFR units were dispatched to Nature View Circle to a reported fall victim as workers were on a scaffold and had fallen approx. 12 feet to the ground. Engine 811, Medic 815, Medic 825 along with Battalion 82 responded to the incident and due to the information and distance to the local trauma center, a medical helicopter was requested to stand-by, if needed. Midway Fire Rescue units arrived on location finding two works had fallen with one in serious condition. Battalion 82 arrived setting up MFR command with crews determining that one patient will need to be flown to the local trauma center. Engine 821 was requested to set up a landing zone at Pawleys Island Community Church. The crews worked package the patient to get ready for the flight to the trauma center (Grand Strand). The other patient and was transported by ground to Grand Strand Medical Center.
