On Tuesday June 9, 2026 at 1551 hours, MFR was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 176 Essex Drive in fire box 81-7. On arrival of Engine 811, a working fire was transmitted with heavy smoke showing from the eaves and roof of the structure. E811 initiated an interior attack on the fire. Ladder 814 and Ladder 821 set up on the building in the event the fire burned through the roof. The fire was brought under control and no firefighter injuries were reported. A civilian was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries from the fire. Thank you to our mutual aid partners Georgetown City Fire Deapartment, Murrells Inlet Garden City Fire Rescue, and Georgetown County Fire & EMS.
