On Friday, July 25, 2025 at 0837 hours, Midway Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 201 Myrtle Avenue on Pawleys Island. A neighbor observed smoke coming from the house and called 911 reporting the fire. Within minutes the on duty crew of B shift arrived on scene and went to work laddering the building and extinguishing the fire located on the ground floor. Thank you to our mutual aid partners from Georgetown City Fire for assisting at the scene and Murrells Inlet Garden City Fire and Georgetown County Fire/EMS for covering our fire district while we were out of service at this fire. A special thank you to the Pawleys Island Police department for covering traffic control and clearing vehicles away from the tight area of the structure before our arrival so our fire apparatus could get to the building.
