A-Shift Rubbish Fire

On Friday, February 20th at 1130 hours Midway Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported rubbish fire on the 800 block of Petigru Drive. The caller reported a large fire behind their house. Engine 821 arrived on scene confirming the report with three acres of fire in the back yard of a residence with the fire spreading. Engine 821 deployed a single attack line and bundle packs to reach the large grass fire requesting additional units. Battalion 81 arrived on location setting up Petigru command with Engine 821 officer taking the operations role. Engine 811 arrived minutes later establishing a water supply and sending manpower to assist Engine 821 crew. The fire was knocked down quickly and crews were on scene for a little over an hour and a half for overhaul.
