Structure Fire for B-Shift

On Wednesday night, at approximately 2130 hours, Midway Fire Rescue was dispatched to box 81-6 for a possible structure fire on Carr Road. Engine 811 arrived on scene of a single story residential house with smoke showing from the front door and eave areas. The first in crews stretched a handline into the structure to locate the fire in the bedroom area of the residence. Crews extinguished the visible fire but found fire extension traveling to the attic area. Battalion 82 (Gilmore) arrived moments after the first in engine establishing Carr Road Command and requesting dispatch to start the first alarm transfers bringing in coverage from mutual aid companies. Chief 2 (Crawford) arrived on scene and assumed command assigning BC 82 as the operations officer. The crews made a successful stop of the fire with extensive overhaul throughout the structure. Midway Fire Rescue crews worked quickly to stop the fire containing it to the fire room and attic space. Transfer companies from mutual aid was received from Georgetown City Fire, Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire, and Horry County Fire. No injuries were reported.
