Pennyroyal Church Fire
On Thursday evening at approximately 1930 hours, Midway Fire Rescue was dispatched for a mutual aid assist to Georgetown County Fire/EMS with a large church complex structure fire at the Cumberland AME Church on Pennyroyal Road. Central Dispatch was reporting a working fire at the church which the caller advised that the steeple was on fire. Ladder 831, Engine 841, and Chief 2 responded and assisted the on scene crews with fire suppression efforts. Crews worked for several hours to control the incident. Midway units cleared from the scene at 0100 hours. The investigation is on going at this time.
